Albertsons Grocery Rescue Program

Albertsons Grocery Rescue Albertsons Grocery Rescue Program was launched in 2005 in Missoula where 4 local agencies split over 361,000 pounds of rescued product. 
So far in 2006 Albertsons and the Montana Food Bank Network have launched the Grocery Rescue program in Great Falls, Helena and Kalispell. We are currently working on rolling out this program in more cities in the next few months.

Target Grocery Rescue Program

Target's Grocery Rescue Program was launched in December of 2005. We are currently working with member agencies in Billings, Missoula, Kalispell, Great Falls, Helena and Bozeman in gathering their industry donations.

Did You Know?
Many people don't understand that the Montana Food Bank Network can accept everything from a pound of beans to 30,000 pounds of potatoes. The network has a cannery at the Montana State Prison.

“If a rancher has a cow that breaks a leg, they can donate it and get the same tax benefit that a Safeway store would,” Peggy Grimes said.
